Last Critique Notes On Current Work

Hello Victor and fellow AC alum.  I realize its been almost 2 weeks but I needed to get this to a place where I could get some feedback that will take me to polish.  Just want to say thanks Victor for some great lectures and some really great insight on what you look for and how you go about animating.  Also, thanks for the great walk through at PIXAR- thats something I'll never forget.  Last, thanks to the great work by my fellow peers, it was really inspiring seeing what you all brought every week to class.

  1. Hi John, this is looking good! I like the idea of crumpling the cup at the end. A couple notes about the girls first:
    - don't have her look at him so long on "yes!". Part of the problem with this is that she looks down just as he is saying "no", so we don't know where to look. Better to have her throw a shorter glance to him and then return to her business.
    - I think her final brow expression looks a bit too angry. I would tone it down and make it just annoyed.
    And for the guy:
    - he blinks right as she says "yes". I'd take this blink out.
    - his gaze moves downward at the end of the shot, which kind of looks like he's checking out her body. If this is meant to indicate that he's going internal, I would direct his eyes more away from her, such as slightly to screen left.
    - I like the intensity in the eyes when he says "no". There is some white about the irises that works well, but then you lose that intensity as he looks down. I would keep the white above the irises through the end of the shot to preserve his shock.
    - For his final blink I think the brows are moving too much. I would tone them way down so we can read the attitude longer.
    Good work!
