Mrrrr, now I'm rethinking the "walk off". My gut initially said to just have her scowl quickly look over then cut. Sorry for bugging you guys for help then changing my mind hahaha! If anyone spots anything that doesn't sit right besides that my ears are open! :)
Hey Elissa- The walk-off feels pretty good to me as an idea - but maybe it's a bit sudden and happens too quickly. To be honest, the first time I watched the shot, I almost missed what had just happened. On subsequent views, it felt way better since I already knew what was happening.
I think what could prevent that and help guide the eye is if you have her look over and turn her head in the direction she is about to start walking. If you can shave some more frames from the 'reaching for the sock' sequence - I think you could even add a mini beat right after her big reaction where she looks screen-left, over at the culprit with a frustrated or angry expression - and only then begin the walk.
I think the idea is a good one, but you need to tweak it a bit to help it read more easily on first viewing. Good work!
Hi Elissa, I don't think the walk off is working, because I don't see the thought on her face that leads to it. I'd rather see the attitude change than the action of walking out - I think a slow burn or a knowing glance sideways would be much more entertaining and revealing.
